Meet the Greenland shark - A 400 years old shark (Video)




Sharks of course are one of the most frightening species on earth. Their big teeth, strong jaws made them to look very terrifying. But have you wondered how much do they live?

Well, a research made by University of Copenhagen, published in 
Science Mag, said that the longest-living vertebrate specie on Earth is the Greenland shark, also known as the gurry shark, or grey shark. The research concludes that the Greenland shark had lived for nearly four centuries. Julius Neilsen, a marine biologist from the university, said:
We had our expectations that we were dealing with an unusual animal, but I think everyone doing this research was very surprised to learn the sharks were as old as they were
Something about the Greenland shark

They live mostly on the waters of the North Atlantic Ocean and Arctic Ocean. They are one of the biggest species of shark, reaching a length up to 6.4 (21 ft) m and a weight up to 1,000 kg (2,200 lb). The shark can live in the very depth of the oceans where temperatures set down to 3°C.
